Day 1: Wednesday, 22 May 2025: Athens - Flight to Ioanina - City tour in Ioannina

Morning: We will start with a morning flight to Ioannina, the capital of Epirus. (the arrival to Athens – can be a night before the group plans to have the flight at 10:40 AM – Landing at 12:30).

Afternoon: Ioannina Old Town: Explore historical sites, including the Romaniote Jewish Synagogue. We will have a peaceful coffee break by the lake together, then take a boat ride to Ioannina Island to learn about Ali Pasha's legacy.

Dinner: At a fine dining restaurant featuring modern Greek cuisine.

Then, participate in a workshop with a local stonemason who can teach you the traditional art of building stone bridges or stone houses, a hallmark of the region’s architecture.

While visiting Metsovo, participate in culinary culture by participating in a cheese-making workshop at one of the local dairies, where you’ll learn to make Metsovone cheese and enjoy a tasting session.

Afternoon: We will arrive to the Prespa Lakes and enjoy a peaceful boat ride to the Monastery of St. Mary of Pygmaleia, with ancient frescoes. Proceed to Kastoria, a lakeside town known for its fur trade and Byzantine-era architecture.

Stroll through the historic Plaka district, visit quaint shops, and enjoy the lively cafés. In the evening, take part in an Athens cooking class where you’ll learn to prepare a classic Greek meal, like moussaka or souvlaki, and enjoy a delicious dinner afterward.
