A Suggested Itinerary for Inspiration

Day 1 I Havana, Cuba

We will depart to Havana, the capital of Cuba, with an intermediate destination. Havana is a vibrant city and the center of life and rhythm in Cuba. After landing and formalities at the airport, we will head to Old Havana – the historic heart of the city. We'll enjoy a local drink at one of the local bars and have dinner. After the leisure time, we'll stay overnight in particular casas – local houses used for tourist accommodation.


Day 2 I Havana and its Sites

During our tour of Havana, we'll visit the local synagogue, continue to the historic area where the "Real Fuerza" fortress is located, and stroll on foot through the four traditional squares of the city: Plaza de Armas, San Francisco, Vieja, and Cathedral. In the afternoon, we'll visit Havana Club – the famous rum museum, where we'll get to know the iconic Cuban drink. There will be free time to explore the local market and wander around the authentic Obispo Street, with a panoramic view of Capitol Hill and the historic yacht of Fidel Castro, the "Granma," passing through the Malecon (seaside promenade) and stopping for a historical photo at Revolution Square. Overnight stay and dinner in Havana.


Day 3 I Havana - Soroa - Las Terrazas

This morning, we'll leave Havana and travel west towards Viñales, stopping at two unique natural points. The first is the Las Terrazas Nature Reserve, where a unique ecological community thrives. We'll visit and immerse ourselves in Cuban life, enjoy lunch or coffee with a magical view (not included), and explore the surroundings. The second is Soroa, where we'll embark on a walk to the Salto del Arco Iris waterfall and enjoy the enchanting scenery. From there, we'll continue to the "Green Province" of Pinar del Rio and the charming town of Viñales. After dinner in local houses where we'll stay overnight, we'll go out to explore the city square and celebrate the beginning of the trip (included).


Day 4 I Viñales, Pinar del Rio Province

Today, we'll spend the whole day in the Pinar del Rio province, known for its fertile land producing the finest tobacco in Cuba. We will visit one of the tobacco plantations, be impressed by the drying houses, and learn about the process of making cigars. We'll take a walking tour in the Viñales Valley, located in the heart of the Organos Mountains, admiring the green cliffs creating a breathtaking landscape. We'll see the Mural de la Prehistoria - a wall painting on the cliff and observe a special viewpoint – Jazmines - overlooking the entire valley. We'll visit the Indian Cave, combining a short walk inside the cave and a boat ride on the underground river. Lunch during the tour, and dinner on your own.


Day 5 I Pinar del Rio - Havana

We'll return to Havana directly for a visit to the unique art project – Fusterlandia – the museum house of the artist Jose Fuster, known as the Picasso of Cuba. In collaboration with the local community, many houses in the artist's neighborhood are adorned with stunning mosaic decorations. Later, we'll visit sites related to the famous writer Ernest Hemingway, who lived in Cuba. Free time to explore the city and have dinner on your own. An option to go out for nightlife in one of the city's clubs (entrance not included, transportation to the city is included). Overnight stay in particular casas/hotel.


Day 6 I Havana - Santiago de Cuba

We will start the morning with a surprise, followed by some free time to wander and enjoy the city. In the afternoon, we will head to the airport for our flight to Santiago, in southern Cuba. Upon arrival, we will settle in the hotel, and if time permits, we can explore the city before dinner.


Day 7 I Santiago de Cuba and its Surroundings

We'll spend the day in Santiago de Cuba, the second-largest city, known for its revolutionary history and the city of heroes, boasting an Afro-Cuban culture and a distinct Caribbean atmosphere. We'll begin with a short trip to the mountain range for a walk to Gran Piedra, an amazing viewpoint overlooking the mountain range that requires climbing several steps. After the tour, we will return for a tour of the city's sites: the first Spanish governor's house, Cespedes Park, Moncada, and if time allows, the Santa Ifigenia Cemetery - the resting place of Cuban heroes. Towards sunset, we will visit the Spanish fortress of 'El Morro,' beautifully located in Cuba, and the museum of pirates within it. In the evening, a jump to the city center for those who want to go out. Lunch or dinner will be provided on this day.


Day 8 I Santiago de Cuba - El Cobre - Bayamo

We'll start the morning with some free time in the city. Later, we'll head west to the El Cobre church, the sanctuary that guards Santiago de Cuba and the entire country. From there, we'll continue to Bayamo, the second oldest city in Cuba, and the area from which all of Cuba's independence wars began throughout history. We will go on a city tour, where we'll stay for the next two days.


Day 9 I Sierra Maestra Mountains

Today, we'll head to the highest mountain range in Cuba, the Sierra Maestra, specifically to the impressive range of the Sierra Maestra Mountains. This remarkable range, with its highest peak towering at 1,974 meters above sea level, contains lush green nature reserves up to scenic jungle landscapes. During our journey, we'll attempt to trace the guerrilla activities of Comandante La Plata, the leader of the revolutionaries who utilized the complex topography for guerrilla warfare against Batista's army. After the tour of the command areas and the enchanting landscape, we'll return to the hotel in Bayamo. Lunch during the tour. Free evening for dinner and outing.


Day 10 I Bayamo – Las Tunas - Camagüey

After breakfast, we head towards Camagüey, the third-largest city. En route, we stop for a short tour in Bayamo, the second oldest city in Cuba, founded by Diego Velázquez. The area where the wars of Cuban independence began throughout history. We visit Manuel Cespedes Square, where the first call for the abolition of slavery in Cuba was made, and the central square with the national anthem's monument, where the church that first played the song that became Cuba's national anthem is located. We continue the journey through Las Tunas until we reach Camagüey. Upon arrival, we explore the central squares and unique art galleries. Accommodation and dinner at the hotel.


Day 11 I Camagüey - Trinidad

Another long day of travel lies ahead, with brief stops along the way until we reach the beautiful and romantic city of Trinidad. The city was the third founded in Cuba by the Spanish and is included in UNESCO's list of world heritage sites. Upon arrival, we embark on an initial walking tour among its picturesque streets, in the central square "Plaza Mayor," and visit the city's museum. Later, we settle into a few 'casas particulares' in the city where we spend our stay. Dinner will be served in our hosts' homes, and those who wish to go out for entertainment are welcome.


Day 12 I Trinidad and surroundings

We start the day with a drink at the Canchanchara Club, followed by a visit to the "Valley of the Sugar Mills," a reminder of the golden days of the sugar industry that enriched the city. We visit the splendid farmhouse with its plantations and climb the tower for a beautiful view of the valley from the watchtower used to oversee the slaves in the fields. Afterward, we head towards the famous Ancon beach in Trinidad for relaxation and sunbathing. Dinner of your choice and those who wish to go out for the night are welcome.


Day 13 I Trinidad – Guanayara Nature Reserve – Santa Clara - Varadero

We begin the first half of the day outside Trinidad, traveling to the Guanayara National Park. We take a leisurely and enjoyable walk through the reserve, passing between trees towards the beautiful waterfall and among the agricultural farms. Those who wish can refresh themselves in the waterfall. After lunch in the area, we travel towards the burial place of Che Guevara in Santa Clara. In the evening, we reach our hotel in Varadero, with all-inclusive accommodations.


Day 14 I Varadero Beaches

A free day to relax on the Caribbean coast. Enjoy leisure time, lounging by the pool and the sea, good food, and sunshine after two weeks of a packed trip. At night, you can go out to celebrate the last night at the hotel disco or one of the nearby pubs.


Days 15 I Varadero - Havana

Farewell to Varadero and the wonderful Cuba.
